contenta estoy yo 9/1/05

Yesterday I stayed up until 7 or so, finishing up grading the exam and inputting numbers so that I can have meetings with my first-year students. Today I decided I should get out early because I have items that I wanted to donate to Salvation Army and found out that it is fairly close to the university. The traffic in that area goes very slow and it took forever to get there, so I decided to rush north to the gym. I think I got there about 4:30. I did about 30 minutes cardio, did ab routines, legs and stretched. Then I thought I would just get in the hot tub, then noticed a couple of lap lanes are open. So I swam for thirty minutes. I am very happy now. Although I totally missed my favorite show, I still have enough time to walk with the dog. I wish I could have this much time (roughly two and half hours today) that I can spend at the gym. Ahh.

fear of not working for Sears 8/31/05

After the other day when I forgot to take my pedometer with me, I make a point of bringing it with me all the time. Still it is rather disappointing that I never made 10,000 steps a day like this device is encouraging you to. I float around 7,000 on a good day and Sunday was a little over 1,700! I used to do easily with 13,000-20,000 steps when I worked at Sears. After this month of transition, my weight has been a little more and it hasn't gone down. I do not particularly go crazy over the number in weight, but I do realize I need to pump up my cardio exercise.

stay hydrated 8/30/05

I have to admit that Texas heat is getting a little better. I can actually sit outside when I walk the dog and enjoy it. However staying hydrated has been a challenge for me. I say so because I don't get as thirsty as I used to back in the desert. So I don't feel like I need to drink. But I do! Since I don't believe me buying water each time, I pack my water in bottles and bring them with me. In the morning, my bag is VERY heavy. I also don't have a big old refrigerator anymore, so I can't keep million water bottles. But one good thing is that frozen water scheme is working for the gym bag that sits in the trunk in the car all day. I guess once the ice chunk is not ready to drink, I think long Texas summer is done and fall is coming. Ah, I miss fall in New Mexico. Ah, I miss New Mexico.

felt good 8/29/05

I left school around 4pm and got to the gym shortly before 5pm. I guess that is my routine now. I decided that I have to give up the hope that I can watch my favorite "100 Mexicanos dijeron" show at 6pm and just be grateful that I can walk the dog, sit down watch some TV. I always have a lot to do and today is no exception, but I just felt good about being at the gym today. I never stop missing New Mexico, but I am getting there. Little by little.

rest 8/28/05

I had the best intention to go to the gym in the morning. I started out my day early, I thought. I ended up completing the home office, filing and everything. Then I took the photo of the condo and uploaded online for my mother to see. Now all the boxes are gone and I am done organizing my school office, too. I am relieved and even ended up taking a nap! I have tons of work to do and I'd better get going. This coming weekend is a long one and I will take care of everything. I know I missed workout last Friday then I probably will again on this coming Wednesday when I have a College meeting, but oh, well. I have too much to do. Grrr.
