fitness clubs in North Dallas 6/24/05

I am at Albuquerque airport heading to Dallas this morning. My main mission is to find a place to live with my dog. Once that is done, I would like to visit the university where I will be working. Then tomorrow, if all is settled, I will start hunting where I will be working out. I really don't want my workout routines to get interrupted and I want to establish good routines right away. There are 24 hour fitness, Bally fitness and Lifetime Fitness. They are all within 10 minutes from where I hope to be living. 24 hour and Bally offers limited time pass, but I forgot to print them. I hope my friend and co-worker-to-be Taguchi sensei can print them out and give it to me. I am tired from the crazy schedule, but look forward to visit those fancy gyms!

cardio adjustment? 6/22/05

Tomorrow is my official last day at Sears. As regular readers may know, I always carry a deluxe pedometer and enjoy moving around the big store. It is just walking around so it is not the most efficient way to burn calories, but even so, the other day, I recorded almost 1000 calories burnt. That is probably equal to more than an hour on ArcTrainer or definitely more from Elliptical. Once I leave the place, I think I need to adjust cardio plan. Maybe I will do it longer or I will come swimming in the afternoon. Ah, let's see.

25,000 steps? 6/19/05

Today is the last day to work on the weekends at Sears. Last couple of weeks or so, I am basically proposing what hours I like and the managers trust me enough that I will keep myself busy without supervision. So I said I would come early today to stock up since the shipment came on Friday and of course, I have had no time Friday and Saturday to put them on the floor. That will make 12 hour day. I am hoping I will get 25,000 steps by the time I finish my day. Maybe I can sneak that in because I will probably have enough time to go take a walk with the dog.

And, today is the first anniversary for this Fitness Diary Blog!
