using different machines 2/3/07

When I did body age, Anthony told me to vary exercises; routines, machines and altogether. Well, I am not too keen on changing EVERYTHING, but when the gym is busy I don't always get the machines I want. Today is a beautiful day and hibernated New Year's resolution people because of the bad weather, seems flocked the gym this morning. So I ended up using different quad and different hamstring machines. I noticed that I feel more in the exercises later. Well, let's see how I feel tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. These days, I noticed that I don't feel it next day, but the day after. Grrr.

144 1/31/07

That is the magic number, the target heart rate for 40 year-old, 85% of maximum heart rate. It has not really been possible all the time, but I am getting better. I need to get on a good machine that doesn't lose my heart rate and get started with good pace, immediately. It still takes about 5 minutes to get to 144, but if I get there soon enough, the machine is not going to raise the height. After 15-20 minutes or so, just like swimming, it gets actually pretty easy to keep going. According to the body age test, cardio function improved most. I feel it is still getting better. I should keep up with 144.

tests, walks 1/30/07

I figured my goal for this semester is to get to the gym 3 times a week. Tomorrow is the first test for my first-year class and oral exams are coming up. I decided to administer one for the second year as well this time. That will happen on Friday. However when this kind of routine starts, it is easy for me to give up going to the gym. Also I feel bad that I don't walk the dog as often as I should. The weather was still nice today, so I decided to walk the dog today. So I missed the workout. At least, I am writing this diary. Grrrr.

181 lb 1/28/07

I think scales are mostly inaccurate and weight has nothing to jump up and down with 3-4 pounds. I understand weight fractuates 2-3 pounds easily. So I wasn't too excited when I was told I am 181 when I did the body age test. I weighes myself yesterday and today and it stays 181-182 (with or witout wet towel?) I only went to steam bath yesterday because I was starting to feel the coming of the cold. Nothing serious, but my immune system was rather low so I played it safe to get plenty of rest. I did whole routine of legs and abs today, so I feel good.
