very lazy day 5/7/05

People who talk to me at the gym think that I go there everyday, but as you know, I don't. Yesterday when I went, it said 23 days in the last 30 days. I say yesterday because I skipped my workout again today. URGH. I had to close (10pm) last night and started early opening this morning (8am) and I was busy trying to set up my cell phone for international phone calls in the morning. Originally I thought I would go in the afternoon and maybe swim. The weather is finally warming up in the desert. Instead what I did was to continue with experimenting with making and receiving international calls on my cell phone and went to a restaurant with the dog. I had ABC melt, very fatty, heavy sandwich with mango freeze drink. My mother said it is OK to have such a day. (By the way, it is already Mother's Day in Japan and I wanted to say hi.) OK, maybe I defend myself here. I guess I was super hyper this morning and after three hours of work, I already put close to 10,000 steps. After the walk with the dog, my pedometer says over 14,000 steps, 470 calories burnt. Oh, well. I am learning if I don't exercise in the morning, I probably skip altogether quite easily. Tomorrow is Sunday and I don't have to go in until 11. I promise I get SOME workout in tomorrow!!!

summer clothes shopping 5/5/05

Although my body fat hasn't gone down, my weight hasn't gone down much, I am getting smaller. A couple of days ago, a lady came to me, looking at me straight and said, "You are looking really good!" (OK, ignore the use of adjective as adverb here.) I smiled and said, "Thank you!" This means most of my summer clothes are no longer good. I have three big shelves full of XL clothes that I plan to sell at a yard sale. This means I basically have to buy all size M clothes, teaching clothes and casual clothes. The other day, when I was closing and helping Women's department to clear the fitting rooms, I saw a rack of this brand called "Sugar Reef". I am learning that my color taste is rather earthy side and colors and prints as shown in a shirt here at the top got stuck in my mind. Tonight I had a big urge to check out this brand. I just wanted something that makes me feel good wearing. I looked around, from dresses, swimming suits and came back again and again to Sugar Reef rack. However even with clearance, pants and shirts were about 25 dollars. So I went with Sears brand. Originally I picked up Sugar Reef pants, but then I realized I look better with shorts as I am an apple. I settled with capri length pants. It took me over an hour and half to make a decision. I usually do rush shopping routine for others, so it was nice to spend this much time for myself. Ahhh.

vacation half gone 5/4/05

My break from teaching has already gone way into the second week. All I do in the evening, instead of teaching, is to sit down in my favorite couch, watch TV and relax. I should really be doing some yoga. I learned that Will is having twin girls scheduled this Monday, so he had a substitute set up for this week. This week also is the start of my probation at Sears because I have been working too many hours. I thought I am going to have oodles of time, but I still go five times a week and it doesn't feel too different. The difference is that I don't do 6am routines. So I don't have to wake up at 4:30am and skip my workout. I promise I won't skip workout this week!

confession 5/2/05

OK, after I wrote my entry yesterday, I went straight back to bed and ... slept for a while. When I woke up, it was one of those days that the bed was glued to my back. I stayed in bed for a while and decided to skip the workout. Then I walked with the dog, ate breakfast and slept in the couch again. Then I did some minor thing and decided to sleep in bed again. Amazingly I did and went to work at 3:30pm. I must have been tired for some reason. So today, to make it up, I stayed in the gym close to three hours. Because I missed the workout yesterday, today became ab day again and since I have time, I did whole routines of Chest, Shoulders and Tricep. The result is that it is close to noon, but I am just done with my breakfast and doing some housework. Grrr.

Sunday morning 5/1/05

The only complaint I have for my gym is they don't open until 8am in the morning on Sundays. It is 6am now and it would be ideal if I can go workout and start my day. They don't stay open too late on Sunday either. I hope to start swimming again soon. That will be a good way to do cardio and I probably get to train muscles that I usually don't use. Oh, well, maybe I shouldn't be complaining. I will go back to bed and relax for a while, maybe read...
