No arms, again 11/10/04

I looked back the log today and it shows that the last time I did weight training on my upper body was 10/18! It has been more than three weeks. However this has been intentional. You might recall my 10/21 entry about my comments overworking all the muscles in Eric's class. My arms have been hurting and even when I had an opportunity and time (like today), I have to stop myself from working on arms because I am afraid I am going to hurt more. I plan to go to Eric's class tomorrow, but if my arms hurt after the class, I have to make a serious consideration of possibly stopping to go to the class. Going to yoga class worrying to hurt yourself is not a right picture.

Working out post office job? 11/9/04

Because I teach only part-time and my business slows down during the holidays, I decided to go for a holiday casual help at post office this year. They say, this is a temporary, full-time, very full-time job and the job is physical. You lift 20 pounds or so and possibly up to 70 pounds with another person push a huge bin with on the wheels that weighs about 30 pounds. I am typing all these from my memory, but made me think that my weight training should help. I will have to be standing all time and it could be a 10 hour day. Let's see if I get this job and let's see if I can survive for two weeks.

Slacking November 11/8/04

This happened last year, too. I started swimming and doing yoga last July and I was going along very well, losing weight, until November. There is a big foreign language conference on the week before Thanksgiving. For the last few years, I have been presenting and organizing events and there are a lot involved. This year, the conference is next weekend, but I have to be away this weekend, too. I had so much to get done this weekend and I am still feeling a lot of pressure. Today I just went in for ArcTrainer for 30 minutes. I was even in a rush there and burned close to 400 calories in 30 minutes. Although it sounds good, my heart rate was going too high. Tonight I plan to go to Will's yoga class. That should calm my nerves.

Doggie Dash and 180 Sport 11/7/04

Every year, I really enjoy Doggie Dash & Dawdle. If I am still here next year, I would like to aim for 5k run. Defined Fitness sends several instructors to the stage and we get to warm up doing some aerobics type moves, with the dog! It is a huge event now with my favorite restaurant, Flying Star provides muffins and scones, Wild Oats, apples and bananas and Buenos, some tortilla bread. One of those deals was Anheuser-Busch's 180 Sport vitamin-enhanced water. Believe me I searched on the Internet for reference, but even the company site doesn't have a respectable space for this drink. It said Orange, but it was more like water. Of course, it contains no juice, 26 calories and some vitamins and minerals. 6 grams of sugar is not too bad. I continue to like flavored sparkling water. Now I found Wal-Mart brand.
