dancing with iPod 6/18/05

Since yesterday, I have been dancing with iPod a lot. While in Japan, my old over-the-ear headphones gave up on me, so I bought a new pair at Kansai airport. They were about 6 dollars, but they are in-ear kind and I think they were well worth the price. (Of course, I am biased when it comes to the quality of Japanese electronics!) Their sound is a little muffle side and they don't exactly stay too well while dancing, but I have heard small sounds that I have never heard from my old earphones or even my new car stereo CD player. I seem to have a lot of energy these days and Thalia's remix is just about the best to serve me. I haven't done singing recently so my range is smaller again. For that, singing and dancing female vocal stuff is not as much fun as it used to be. But my legs are strong and I have a lot of fun dancing!

Boy, it feels good! 6/17/05

Another teaching week is over! Friday is such a liberating day and I am feeling it 100%! I went to the gym and did legs and abs. Also took my sweet time stretching. Then I came back and just couldn't help listening to my iPod with newly purchased earphones in Japan. And danced for about half hour! I am totally energized. I feel groovy!

stretching during the meeting 6/16/05

I haven't gone to a yoga class for a long time. I haven't done it at home either because my dog gets upset if I don't keep her company. Yesterday I was so tired and I ended up missing another workout. Today I had to go to work at 6 and of course, I missed it again. So I was in need of a good stretch and after running around alone for four hours, putting stuff out. Just before the store opens, we always have a store-wide meeting and it is my chance to stand out and just listen and get paid. The meeting itself is loosely useful and nothing I have to pay a sharp attention to. So I started to do forward bend stretch and sure enough it had a little cracking sound here and there. When I did that for the second time, the manager in charge of the meeting noticed me, I guess, and told me to get up. I was almost ready to sit on the floor and do a wide-leg forward bending!

planning a smooth transition 6/15/05

I am sad to leave Albuquerque and my favorite gym, but my moving is going to happen for sure in August. I have very little time to explore the area when I arrive there, so I am trying to do a lot of research now. I am probably moving to this condo in a suburb of Dallas, very close to North Dallas area. It is a big city and there are plenty of health clubs. There seems to be a community one, very close and cheap, but 24 hours one, too. I will report in detail next weekend.

bomb? 6/13/05

I woke up fairly good time and drove to the gym. I saw a police patrol car with a yellow tape in my usual entrance, so I turned around and drove to another entrance from a bigger street. There it was the same, so I came back and asked an officer who was standing there. He told me there was something to do with a bomb?!?! I haven't checked the local news yet, but for that I missed my workout this morning. Sears called and wants me to work after class, so I can't go this afternoon either. In turn, I got to go two hours later tomorrow morning, so maybe I can squeeze my workout tomorrow. My arms were feeling a little bit this morning, so maybe it was a good thing to take a break. But who would want to bother this locally owned, good-priced, well-managed fitness center???
