super busy Saturday morning 2/11/06

Saturday mornings used to be very empty at the gym. I saw only a handful people and the pool was always open. Today I admit I didn't go there too early, but the place was packed! I guess New Year's resolution people are still hanging in there. The weather man scared me saying it is going to be just as cold as early Decemeber's ice storm when the school was delayed two hours, but it is beautiful! I think I should give the dog a chance to exercise and take a walk together.

skipping (again?!?) 2/10/06

I attended Japan club meeting yesterday and when that happens, I skip going to the gym. It is only 2pm now, but I am exhausted. If only I didn't have a departmental meeting right now, I would head home and take a nap. It is going to be a cold, rainy weekend for Dallas. I have plenty to do for the weekend, but for now, I just want to head out, go Asian food shopping, and take a nap.

free session (or advertisement) 2/9/06

I had a free nutrition session with Amy yesterday. She is working on Master's degree at TCU, supposedly the rival university from SMU. Although she took some notes and let me say what I eat and what my goals are, those were rather for record and this free session is really serving as a free advertisement for a bigger deal. I would LOVE to be able to pay $400 for super scientific testing, food analysis and meal planning, but it is luxury for me. Information given was good, but some were not new and probably nothing that I couldn't research on the Internet, maybe. And of course, she couldn't do any individualization for me. I appreciated her time, but free deal at the Lifetime usually ends up being more of an advertisement for services than helpful and good deal for cheap members. Now I am starting to think that the gym doesn't make money from membership fees. They probably really do with personal training and other services. There are quite a few trainers and I see them come and go. Most of them are quite young and sometimes I have to take a look at their name tag, so that I don't request or end up getting in the future.

I'm gonna feel it tomorrow... 2/7/06

I left school about 4:30 and made it to the gym today. I thought Friday was quieter and thought we got rid of New Year's resolution people, but Monday and Tuesday have been pretty packed. When I work on chest, shoulders and tricep, I like using dumbbells, but free weight area is really busy, too. Luckily I got a bench today. I did chest press with inclined with 20 pounds and boy, I felt it. Must be a different muscle set that I haven't been working on. I have a feeling I am going to feel it tomorrow. Maybe not. It will be a delay and the day after tomorrow.

today has to be the last day! 2/6/06

I was still coughing and sneezing in the office and at the gym, but I beg this HAS TO BE THE LAST DAY! I went to the gym and fully enjoyed the warm mist in the steam room. My signature is having energy and I have been kind of low. Now I appreciate more of the steam room knowing that the little bottle to mix with the water in the humidifier costs SIX DOLLARS. I will set up the humidifier with that liquid and I WILL BE WELL TOMORROW!!!

new humidifier 2/5/06

Last week was a hard one to go through because of the flu. I had an exam to give on Wednesday and I cheated on my health all week long. Cough started on Wednesday and it is just not going away. Yesterday I felt quite ill again with heavy sneezing and coughing. My dog keeps waking up to go to the bathroom at night and I had an idea of sleeping in the couch downstairs for a change. Then a few things came to my mind. Because the heater is upstairs by the office, upstairs is always warmer than downstairs. The air from the heater is more direct upstairs. Then I realized I always had humidifier going in New Mexico. During the winter time, I had it on 24 hours. I don't know if I want to do it with electricity bill in Texas, but at this point, getting a humidifier sounded better than getting cough syrup. So I made a visit to Walgreens and got a warm humidifier for the first time. I always had cold mist in the past. Then I realized they sell vapor liquid to mix with water for warm one. The humidifier is successfully running and I realized it is just like steam room at the gym! I should be in there now, but I ended up skipping going there whole weekend. This flu has got to go soon.
