audiobook 12/31/05

I love my iPod and take it everywhere. I haven't taken it to the gym until recently because iPod was to listen to music for me. This changed recently when I can listen to podcasting. After not being scheduled for all week at Sears, I decided I have too much time on my hands and downloaded unabridged version of Memoirs Of A Geisha. It is something like 17 hours long and cost me close to 30 dollars. I hope to see the movie during the break and finish listening to the audiobook before that! I say that because Sears called me and wants me to do In Store Marketing job, that is signs and price tag and stuff. I imagine all Christmas/holiday stuff is coming down and the price is going to get changed. I am kind of looking forward to it, but would I finish listening to everything before my Mom shows up on the 4th?!?

swimming in warm water, in warm weather 12/29/05

Swimming is one of my favorite activities, but I didn't always get to it because it takes fair amount of time and also the weather. That used to be a problem back in Albuquerque, but here in Dallas, the pool is heated and it is almost luke warm. So today I felt like I had enough time so I took 30 minute swim. What is even more amazing is the warm weather. the weather in Dallas shows it is currently 69 degrees! I am going to say to my mother this is August in Vermont, March in New Mexico! Unbelievable!

calf stretch 12/28/08

Now I think about it, I think Paul said interesting things on his free consultation. I learned that personal training is a way to go and Paul would be a good trainer to work with. On top of that, he showed me how to stretch calves using free motion machines. He said a lot of people are flexible in hamstring (I am pretty OK with that.), but they forget to stretch calves. The impact or pressure from the ground should go through glute muscles (one of the biggest muscles). If they are not flexible, the impact will go front instead and putting more pressure on knees. I never heard about it, but I thought it was important for me to remember since my knees are the biggest concern. So when I did leg routine, I did the stretch exactly how Paul showed me.

paid workout ending tomorrow 12/26/05

Although I am not going to be terminated, Sandra says this schedule week (yesterday through Saturday) is going to be my last assignment at Sears. I even called earlier and spoke with Rushandra to see if the store is busy and needs clean up and I can come earlier. I haven't heard so I guess there are not too many mad returning customers like back in Albuquerque. Some MCA's started to notice that I am quick on feet and I told them that I consider this paid workout. I am scheduled 5 hours today and 5 hours tomorrow and that is it! I am kind of relieved, but at the same time not quite sure that I did enough paid workout as I wanted. Last year, I was in San Antonio and Debbie called me to come in. I wonder that will happen this year here in Dallas store.

Bachman Lake 12/25/05

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Things are slow and the gym didn't open until 3pm. I am writing this around 5pm, which means that I haven't made it to the gym. Instead I decided to take a walk with Pepper in Bachman Lake today. I love any kind of body of water, but this lake (I would say a bigger pond, though) was gorgeous today because it was quite sunny. I took my broken(heart) pedometer and it registered about 10,000. The dog looks quite sleepy. I think I walked about for two hours. I really wanted to go to the gym, but I still have work to be submitted by tomorrow. I walked along one side of the lake, but didn't complete the south side this time. That will be next time.
