herb garden? 7/15/06

I am trying to eat healthy and learning how to use fresh herbs to season. When I follow Food TV's recipes, a lot of them call for those herbs that I am not familiar with. I learned that I can get cilantro and parsley in my neighborhood grocery store and they are affordable, but anything beyond that, to be sure, I have to go to Whole Foods or Central Market. I love basil and dill goes good with cucumber. When I buy them, they are close to $2 a bunch and I don't always get to use it all before it goes bad. I see most chefs on TV have either garden or some bunches that they take herbs out fresh. I wonder how difficult or expensive it is to maintain something like that. Humm.

at the gym in the afternoon 7/14/06

Because Sears is putting me closing almost all the time, I try to get my walk with the dog and exercises at the gym all in the morning before my morning shower. Today is my precious day off and I finally get to catch up with my soap! Because I was too lazy in the morning, I decided to go to the gym in the afternoon shooting for around 4pm, when the gym doesn't get too crowded. This is close to my routines when I have my classes. I do cardio, weigh training then go to the steam bath, take a shower and come back. Oh, I forgot to mention weigh myself. I weighed myself today and it is the weight that would not budge, 185. I wonder this is my permanent weight. Anyway, steam bath was quieter than I remember, but the experience was refreshing. I thought it would just copy what is outside, but with the minty mist and shower actually made me really refreshed. I am in the stage of cleaning the fridge, still trying to eat well. Oh, did I confess I had a big pizza baked today?

slacking and heat 7/13/06

Oops, it has been a week since I wrote the last entry. I was kind of low energy last week because of the monthly business and then I had a late night phone call with Omoto sensei Sunday. On top of that, I am doing nothing but closing and this screws up my routines. For a couple of days, I even missed morning walk with the dog let alone the gym. I am not going to blame on the heat, but it is getting bad. This weekend last year must have been yard sale and the time my house was sold. I visited Dallas for the second time following week and got ID and everything and I remember it was quite tough walking around campus with nice teaching clothes on. The days with triple digits started and it is going to go on for a while. I will be out of here in 10 days to visit the desert. I can't wait to get out of the heat even just for a short time.
