Sears dress code 11/4/05

Because I have to see an HR person at Valley View Sears today, I figured I would wear Dress Code today. I hope to get online training of the fourth quarter done possibly today or early Saturday. I have ACTFL prep to do and really can't be spending time on anything else at this point. I remembered I had to worry if Melissa says anything about the length of the pants and I remembered they are actually not petit pants, but capri pants from regular length! And they are not from Sears. I fit in the pants just OK, so after all maybe I am keeping my shape from June. Back in Albuquerque store, I heard the new district manager said that softline MCA's can wear non-dress code colors as long as certain brands from Sears. I remember one of the brands Cecilia mentioned was Latina Life. I first saw in Valley View when I visited in June, but when I left Albuquerque store in July, they still didn't have it. Now obviously they do. Some stuff is pretty decent like this top and I wish I could do the same in Valley View. But from what I observed from Kimberly and Shirley pointed out good old sample of dress code photos, I don't think I get to do it. Anyway, the top I am wearing is black turtle neck shirt with stretchy material. That is what I wore until maybe February. I put my pedometer in the back and I am ready to run around today. I am probably not going to make it to the floor today, but I look forward to it on the day before Thanksgiving.

Time has come! 11/2/05

I used to read Time magazine on Elliptical machine back in NM, serving also to hunt for an article for my ESL High Advanced students to read. That was some free deal and ended before this summer. The other day, I think Delta sent a similar deal with expiring mileage and I took this free deal again. So Time magazine is going to come once a week now! This is going to be hard to keep up. Grrrr.

busy November 11/1/05

Daylight saving time is over and November has arrived! Yesterday I ended up missing workout because I needed to finish the part of (very small part that I should have done a month ago!) preparation for the conference this month. Also last night was the deadline for online submission and I spent long time to take care of that. Therefore I walked with the dog, but not the gym. I think it might be the other way around today. November is going to be like this, I am afraid. I hope I can get to the gym maybe 3 days a week. Grrrr. Very sunny morning. Reminds me of lovely sky from New Mexico...

heart rate monitor on machine 10/30/05

My new favorite cardio machine wants heart rate constantly in order to keep me within fat burn range. With my weight and age (39!), it is 118 and it is fairly easy to reach. I noticed recently that depending on the machine, maybe this measurement of heart rate is not quite accurate. Yesterday I was on the machine, third from the left and I reached my target heart rate probably within under a minute. Then it kept asking me to slow down because heart rate is going too high. I never got to burn 300 calories being on the machine for 30 minutes! Today I used the one next to it and I never had to worry about my heart rate going too high. So it was comfortable and it says I burnt a little more than 300 calories. In the Experience magazine, I think those heart rate monitor is good for "fitness enthusiast". It will motivate you, but not exactly too accurate sometimes. I think I will avoid the third machine next time.
