Thankful 11/23/06
What a beautiful day in Texas. I must have endured the long summer for this. It is warm and lots of sunshine. I am only wearing a T-shirt and jeans and it is almost too hot to stay outside to read. A little wind, but nothing severe like it often gets in Texas. Today I baked sweet potatoes (coated with olive oil, sugar and brown sugar, topped with honey), simple green beans, heated up store-bought stuffing and shared a big turkey leg with Pepper. After I set the table with this feast with the dog out on the patio, I said all the things that I am thankful for. The first one is that I am in good health, have a good companion of Pepper, have a job, all the families healthy and I am receiving new additions and so forth. I tend to count what I am not, what I don't have and feel unfulfilled about it, but today after saying things outloud, I was quite happy about who I am, where I am. I finished up rather untraditionally with Indian sweets that Raj gave me called Soan Papdi (different brand, but right stuff). I thanked him for entering my life as well.
