So what is this what I do? 3/23/07

It was unusual that Raj woke up in the middle of the night and didn't go back to sleep. Or while sleeping, he had acute back pains and kept flinging and touching his back, consciously or unconsciously, I don't know. I felt his back and there is massive area that was so tight and a few really tight spots. As a Japanese, I know that tapping and pushing the area will loosen up and get the blood moving. I used to do to my ex-husband. Now I think about it, he was only in his early thirties, when I first married him and took care of him this way. Well, Raj is of course, a lot older than that. If I ask, of course, he says his back is fine. But while I am half asleep, I kept giving him massage or whatever I know and when I thought it was done (took a long time), he fell back asleep, so maybe whatever it was worked. I rented a DVD of shiatsu, thinking maybe that will enlighten what I do, but of course, acupressure has specific areas that are assigned that is not the actual area that I am touching. I really don't know what I do and how effective. But I sure hope he is feeling better today.

the best weather 3/22/07

I recall last year around this time, I started to have "pool parties" in my own patio. Less than six weeks left in the semester to go and the temperature is just right before the brutal Texas summer. Most of the time, the humidity is a little too much for my desert taste, but with the temperature along with a long daylight with the summertime, I am fascinated being outside. I took another longer route with the dog and the lake reflected fair pink sunset. I am happy to mention that I completed chest/shoulders/tricep with ab routine at the gym. I am feeling pretty good.

walking the dog, 182 3/21/07

As you can see my infrequent posts here, I have not been exactly diligent about going to the gym and working out. I will try to make it 3-4 times a week. When I don't get to the gym, I make a point of walking with the dog. During the spring break, I made a trip to Arbor Hills as much as I can. Once I get there, I would like to walk at least an hour. Today I took a long way to the around the apartment route, which I used to do twice a week during the summer. According to the vet, Pepper is in good weight. Yesterday when I went to the gym, I got in to the steam bath for the first time in the long time and I weighed myself. I was expecting to see 185, my coming back weight number. 182 was what I had immediately after the holiday, which I worked for Sears. However I am happy to note that my weight stayed at 182. So making the point to walk with the dog, may not be, after all, such a bad idea. If I can call it my exercise is done if I walk around Arbor Hills with the dog, I can't be happier.

spring equonix and loving it 3/20/07

I had a meeting up till 5pm, still hit the gym and did back routines without ab. Then I did a brief stretch and stayed in the steam bath for a while. I was fully expecting that it is all dark outside. Instead it was very bright and I got to walk with the dog. Now I don't have make a choice between going to the gym or walking the dog. Maybe I will even go to Arbor Hills during the week?!?
