catching a cold? 5/25/05

Catching a cold in summer with overuse of air conditioning happens, but I think I did it without using it. Yesterday I had 8 hours of Sears and after that before my teaching, I took a shower. Then I was sweating walking up and down Main campus, talking loud to a big class for over two hours. After all that, I took a nice walk with the dog and sure, I was sweating a little bit. It was still warm, so I didn't put any cover over me when I slept. I woke up middle of the night feeling cold is coming. I thought it is ridiculous, but now I took Advil Cold and Sinus. I can't be sick this week and the next. I thought about skipping the workout this morning to rest, but hey, a little bit of exercise shouldn't hurt, right? It is still early enough and I will be probably taking a nap after my class this afternoon anyway. I have to make sure to take a shower before I go to sleep, even I have taken the shower twice that day already!

dehydration 5/23/05

We had a very wet and cool winter this year and I was complaining until a few weeks ago. Somebody must have heard me and now we are in the record heat. The temperature is supposed to go up to 96 degrees today here and my friend John write to me saying in El Paso it will be 104! I did a lot of walking just over a week ago and I don't think I can be doing that now. Today I just did cardio and ab with stretch and I consumed 1.5 liter water bottle just doing that. Now I am thinking I should probably bring another bottle and keep it in the locker. Sometimes I spend close or over 2 hours at the gym and I think one bottle is not going to be enough. I know it is not just me because my dog's water bowl gets empty quicker now.

summer routines 5/22/05

Ahh, another couple of days missing this diary. Juggling three jobs is not easy, I guess. When I heard that I will be on 28 hour a week probation, I thought I would have oodles of time and I will get done so much, but this past week was the first week of the semester and my 10 hour consulting commitment needed to be done today, so I could say I was close to the full schedule I had until a few weeks ago, I guess. On top of that, I get nervous at the beginning of each and every semester so bad. So when I feel like I am pushed with time, I skip workout in the morning. Unfortunately sometimes this serves me because once I get to the gym, I spend at least 1 1/2 hours, usually close to two or longer, depending on the menu I have. Today will be shorter, no ab just back. I hope to set summer routines pretty soon. Oh, before I finish saying that, I recall I will be taking a short trip to Japan. Unlike last time, this is a conference trip and I don't know if I have time to go to the gym. But I should at least swim. The weather in the desert is getting really warm. I should get back to swimming.
