Practice for fall semester 8/20/09

It has not been too long since I thought I finally recovered from summer course, but fall semester is in full swing! I am practicing taking trains and figuring out when I can workout once the semester starts. If I want to keep up with current carbohydrate grams at 800 calorie burn, running for an hour alone doesn’t guarantee it. Even without my obsession with carbohydrate, I still need to be doing some strength training. I will make sure to throw those in on weekends, but I need to be doing at least once, preferably twice of Express (and DAY 2 and DAY 3, DAY 3 and DAY 1 can’t be consecutive) and ab exercises. I will finish learning exercises for Express tomorrow. Still can’t believe they claim that routine will be done in 22 minutes! Even after I learn everything, when the reps get lower, I estimate at least 40 minutes (8 exercises per day). Maybe I am just slow. Ab must get faster. But if I remember correctly, routines change every two weeks. I like to take time and learn correctly, so it will be about 20-30 minutes. Now how does this all fits together with teaching routines? MW is a three-class teaching day and also late finishing day. I don’t always get a ride with Rosemary at 4:30. If I want to run an hour, I must leave 5 latest. That is for cardio. If I want to be doing weight training, I have to be leaving before Rosemary. Now that MIGHT just happen Tuesday and Thursday. Otherwise I hope I am in good shape enough to wake up at 4 to take the first train and run for an hour, then get to school. Well, let’s see.

The end of summer assessment and outcomes 8/16/09

On 8/8, I met with Jeff again and took CardioPoint assessment again. The result was that my Anaerobic threshold (AT) came down, meaning I am not as fit as I used to. Therefore I got same kind of exercise, but at lower heart rate. Although this was a little disappointing to Jeff and a surprise for me, I took this as a break from very hard exercises I did all summer. Now I listen to audiobook on treadmill! I also started new weight training routines using The Body Sculpting Bible Express for Women, The Body Sculpting Bible for Abs: Women's Edition, Deluxe Edition and Anatomy For Women For Strength and Fitness Training The photo below is the result of this summer in 3 points. Clicking on the small one will bring up a bigger.
