going for 30,000? 7/6/06

My summer Sears job is in full swing! A couple of girls are on vacation and the store manager asked me to come in earlier. I told her to name the time and she said 11. That makes my shift 10 hours and 45 minutes today! This is unheard of for the Dallas store. I remembered one time in Albuquerque, I was originally scheduled 10-6, nothing unusual, and was asked to come earlier. They said 6am and that made my day 12 hours. There is a follow-up to this. The same day I had 7:30-9:50 class. Then I think I was back at work the following morning. Maybe 8 or so. Tomorrow is pretty much the same thing. She asked me if I want to give up the day off and come in the morning. So I have another five hours, 8am-1pm. I am saving up all my energy and making sure I have enough food. I walked with Pepper, but I am not going to the gym today. Maybe tomorrow afternoon? I am assuming that I will be spending a lot of time working on racks. It won't be a lot of walking, but would I make 30,000 steps today? Well, wait and see.

pouring rain 7/5/06

Some events yesterday got a little damp, but it is pouring rain this morning. Because this is my welcoming day off, I am thinking about skipping morning walk (sorry, dog) and just go to the gym. Hopefully, it will dry up and stay cool, so that I can walk with the dog. For a long time, I assigned today to be a shopping day traveling to Irving, but after seeing a stupid driver trying to make corners too soon and spinning all over on the road, I don't know if I should attempt it. Or maybe just take it easy driving on the back road instead of freeway. Grrr.

yoga on-demand 7/4/06

Happy birthday, USA! There must have been something going on last night. I was just trying to get home and no streets are around under tollway to go west. We were all directed to tollway service road. They didn't let us make the left turn up till Frankford! So it took me one and half hours to get home and by the time I get home, I was very hungry. So I stayed up and ate, which made me feeling lazy this morning and skipping the gym. I figured varying exercise entry is valid and decided to go with doing yoga this morning. Because I routinely miss my 9pm local news now, I started to watch local news on-demand. The other night when people were loud in the pool and I couldn't get to sleep, I found a whole lot of exercises sections. Most of them serve more as ad for the entire DVD rather than sensible, complete exercise. I zipped through all yoga sessions and decided that the only one, that may be worthwhile doing would be Yoga 4 Good Back or some sort. I wouldn't consider that totally yoga, rather yoga-like stretches. But that is what I was looking for this morning. It is 24 min. long. I managed to forget to stretch yesterday at the gym, so I did a little bit at home. I figured I will compensate for that.

varying exercises 7/3/06

I know very well that yoga is a real exercise and some people can't believe that. However I am suddenly feeling more fit these days by throwing some yoga practices. My workout log has not been changed forever. Maybe it is time to...
