6th fattest city 1/7/06

Faithful readers may recall that Albuquerque was rated pretty good in Fittest City by Men's health magazine. After hearing about it in the news, I checked Men's Health Magazine web site and got 2005 figure here. Albuquerque even improved to the 10th fittest from the 12th from last year. My new home Dallas is rated the 6th fattest. One thing that applies from Dallas description is long commute impeding people going to work out. That certainly feel that applies to me. Including this year's fattest, Houston, I see quite a few Texas cities in the fattest list. Grrr.

athletic figure? 1/4/06

Occasionally I became brave enough to get on the scale in the locker room at the gym, but my weight hasn't changed at all. If it has, it has changed 1 or 2 pounds since August and that, in my opinion, is within the fractionation. However it is rather interesting to see myself in the mirror these days. Although there is fair amount of fat covering all my body and women do not gain muscles like men are unless you take some artificial supplement, I do feel my figure is somewhat athletic. I never practiced any sports at all in my life, so this is a welcome change in mid-age.

listening to iPod 1/3/06

One word to describe my personality would be "intense" and I am doing it to listen to the iPod. Today I did that while I did back and bicep. Maybe I can listen to iPod while I exercise. Let's see if I can handle ab tomorrow.

A happy new year 1/2/06

A happy new year of Dog! I continue spending a lot of time listening to my audiobook. I think I am almost half way. As I am desperate to finish, I have been listening to my iPod not only during cardio workout, but also during the weight training for the last two days. Yesterday I listened to the story while I was working on free weights chest/shoulders/tricep routines. I thought I wouldn't trap myself or anything because I used dumbbells. Today I figured it is OK because today was leg day. I went to the gym after work, maybe around 3:30 and noticed that machines are sometimes not available when I wanted them. This was quite unusual, especially not my usual hours during the semester. Then I realized. The season must have come again for new year resolution! If later afternoon on a holiday is this busy, I don't want to imagine how busy it gets my usual hours after school. Ahhh.
