tomorrow, tomorrow 3/6/07

I am slowly realizing as a language teacher. What takes MOST time and effort in our job is to grade composition. I recall it was the same as advanced ESL. But students just have to do it. I still have 17 students in my 1st year and it must have taken me four hours to grade the first version of this 500 character composition. The second version needed to be graded last night and it only took about one and half hours. So I didn't make it to the gym. Today I had to grade the exam, which doesn't take whole lot of time, but it was after all the oral exams which ended after 4pm. When I finished grading the exam, I realized I hadn't touched the second year homework, quiz grading and planning for tomorrow. By the time I came back, it was halfway dark and I didn't feel like walking the dog. Oh, poor thing. I should make it tomorrow. Both classes are done with exams including oral for now. Three more days to the spring break. Students are thinking the same thing. My exams are done rather early, but most seem to be later this week. I will make it to the gym tomorrow, yes, tomorrow.

lazy, plain lazy 3/4/07

I know I had a lot of work this weekend, grading and preparing for the next week. For unknown reason, I felt really grumpy yesterday and I hated myself doing it at the same time. That is pathetic, but I realized why when I realized my period started! Now I am aware how strong hormones take control of my mood. I have been rather level-headed, level-emotioned no matter where I have been in the moon, I decided that I should admit that I am being controlled by this. I immediately moved menopause instructional DVD to the top of the queue of Netflix. Well, the really bad part of this blog is that I have not been to the gym for so long. Friday was inevitable, but the weekend really had no excuse. Let's say Saturday was taken up two hours for installation of a new car stereo and today, I went to Arbor Hills with the dog. Oh, well.
